What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Accountant position at TCI Transportation?
The Senior Accountant ensures accurate and prompt accounting and record-keeping for TCI Companies. They aid in the monthly closing process and produce operational and financial reports for the Truck Sales and Lease / Rental divisions.
Primary Roles and Duties :
- Accounting Record Management : Handle, store, and maintain accounting records, encompassing both automated and manual monthly journal entries, in line with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Balance Sheet Oversight : Conduct monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
- Intercompany Transactions : Manage and reconcile intercompany transactions monthly.
- External Collaboration : Prepare and provide necessary work papers and documentation to external auditors and tax firms.
- Fixed Asset Management : Oversee fixed asset accounting, which includes reconciliations, roll forwards, monthly depreciation entries, and maintenance of the Fixed Asset ERP
- Transaction Oversight : Assist in generating all general ledger transactions for the Leasing division.
- Procedure Documentation : Draft and maintain standard operating procedures for all journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Ad-Hoc Reporting : Generate custom reports as needed, responding to specific business inquiries or requirements on an as-needed basis.
