Job Title: Data Warehouse Architect

General Summary:
This position supports the Child Welfare Data Warehouse team in developing Federal reporting, ad-hoc reporting, ETL processes, and Business Objects reports that are critical for applications including NYTD, AFCARS, and NCANDS. It also involves providing ETL support for other departmental projects to enhance data accessibility and user productivity.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with State and contract staff, as well as SACWIS/CCWIS system developers, to ensure the operational system database structure supports Child Welfare Data Warehouse requirements.
- Design and load the Child Welfare Data Warehouse database model to meet DHHS s reporting and analytics needs.
- Adapt the data warehouse in response to changes stemming from the SACWIS/CCWIS system project in coordination with relevant stakeholders.
- Keep State and contract staff informed and trained on decisions and impacts related to data warehouse model support and enhancement.
- Perform application development tasks supporting business intelligence and integration of data warehouse resources with other DHHS applications.
- Provide database expertise to application developers in collaboration with DBAs and data management teams.
- Develop data warehouse-based applications including reports, dashboards, and data visualizations.
- Implement ETL systems to cleanse, consolidate, and move data from operational systems to the data warehouse.
- Collaborate with the Federal reporting team and end user query developers to optimize database queries.
- Define and develop new queries with agency requestors and provide training and technical support.
- Work directly with end users to identify data needs and deliver solutions.
- Conduct training sessions for DTMB developers on Teradata and BI development tools for implementing reporting solutions.
- Offer one-on-one support for developers and end users for federal data reporting tasks.

- Data Warehouse Platform: Teradata Cloud version 17.20 (shared platform with other State of Michigan departments)
- Reporting Tools: Business Objects XI 4.2 SP4 on Windows Server 2012 virtual platform
