What are the responsibilities and job description for the Splicer I Fiber position at TCS Communications?
Splicer I Fiber will performs tasks associated with the construction / upgrade of fiber systems. A In-house Splicer I Fiber is responsible for terminating, splicing, bonding / grounding, documenting, and testing fiber optic cables within the systems networks and their related equipment resulting in maximum operating efficiency. We are looking for CATV experience.

Responsibilities :
Performs tasks associated with the electronic upgrade and splicing of cable.
Maintain proper inventory on vehicle based on work assignment.
Reconcile all issued parts and materials on a daily basis to ensure accurate material usage counts.
- Maintain equipment according to design specifications.
- Install / repair fiber lines in trenches and / or pedestals using various hand tools.
Test, activate, and troubleshoot equipment after installation.
Basic daily maintenance of provided vehicle : check fluids, clean and organize vehicle.
Complete daily production reports, mark-up maps, keep track of work hours, complete "as-built maps" for areas built and track daily production
Safely operate and use bucket truck to complete daily construction assignments as needed (potentially climb poles)
Field train and control / oversee the work of other Splicers when necessary.
Other splicing related duties as assigned
Who we are looking for
Must be a valid driver's license (CDL Class "A" preferred).
Must be able to work nights and weekends, if necessary.
Ability to operate technical equipment, including but not limited to computer, OTDR and fusion splicing equipment.

Pay range is commensurate with experience : $17.00 / hour to $19.00 / hour
