Responsibilities:
- Clean and sanitize patient rooms, restrooms, common areas, and other designated spaces in the hospital.
- Ensure all surfaces, floors, and fixtures are thoroughly cleaned and disinfected according to hospital standards.
- Handle waste management, including the proper disposal of trash and medical waste.
- Replenish supplies such as soap, hand sanitizer, and paper products in patient rooms and common areas.
- Operate cleaning equipment safely and efficiently, including vacuums, mops, and buffers.
- Follow infection control procedures to prevent the spread of germs and maintain a sterile environment.
- Report any maintenance or safety issues to the appropriate department promptly.
- Collaborate with other hospital staff to ensure the highest standards of cleanliness and safety are maintained.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in housekeeping or environmental services, preferably in a healthcare setting.
- Knowledge of cleaning procedures, products, and equipment.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining a clean and safe environment.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lift, push, or pull heavy objects and stand or walk for extended periods.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays if needed.
