About the Role
This position requires a seasoned lawyer with expertise in consumer finance, marketing, and regulatory affairs. Your primary responsibility will be to provide legal advice and support to TD Bank's US Marketing corporate function and Credit Cards and Unsecured Lending (CCUL) line of business. You will work closely with product owners and risk stakeholders to ensure that marketing campaigns and initiatives comply with relevant laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide legal advice and oversight to TD Bank's marketing activities, including advertising campaigns and product promotions* Advise on consumer credit card and unsecured lending solicitations and advertisements* Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including product owners, risk managers, and external counsel* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate potential legal risks* Stay up-to-date with changes in consumer finance laws and regulations, including the Truth-in-Lending Act and Regulation Z* Develop and implement effective compliance programs to ensure regulatory compliance
Requirements
* JD from an accredited law school* 5 years of experience in consumer finance, marketing, or regulatory affairs* Admission to the bar in the relevant jurisdiction* Strong understanding of consumer finance laws and regulations, including the Truth-in-Lending Act and Regulation Z* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills* Experience working with governance, risk, and compliance frameworks* Familiarity with banking/financial services operations and issues* Experience developing and implementing compliance programs* Familiarity with data protection and privacy laws
