Project Supervisor:
The Underground Utility Project Supervisor oversees crews in the shop and on job sites. The Project Supervisor's responsibilities include monitoring performance, making recommendations for improvement, and educating all staff on safety. This roll will manage projects to stay within budget and ensure required materials and equipment are available. This role will have to demonstrate a sound understanding of safety regulations, underground excavation practices, and be able to transfer this knowledge to your team. Identify problems and find feasible solutions to them.
Responsibilities:
- Ensuring teams work together to deliver quality work on strict deadlines
- Monitoring construction processes and providing training/team building sessions are required
- Ensuring adherence to health and safety regulations at all times
- Performing routine JSA and Safety Audits at job site on all equipment and materials
- Scheduling regular meetings with vendors, site inspectors, managers, subcontractors, and staff
- Writing reports, budgets, project plans, and presenting them to relevant stakeholders
- Collaborating closely with architects and other professionals
- Staying up to date with safety codes and advancements in construction
- Processing paperwork and traveling to multiple sites as required
- On call as needed; must be proficient in the National One Call process.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Associate’s degree in construction management related field or 8 years of experience in construction or underground utility maintenance.
- Proficient with reading and translating design prints, as-built maps, locate tickets, and permits.
- Proven Experience in underground utility construction, leadership experience, valid driver's license, and excellent communication/writing skills.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management or related field.
- 8 years of experience in construction or underground utility maintenance.
- Familiarity with operating construction tools and equipment.
- Basic knowledge of site preparation and excavation techniques.
- Possession or ability to obtain a DOT Medical Card.
- CDL with tanker endorsement (or willingness to obtain) for operating larger commercial vehicle combinations.
- Knowledge of traffic regulation and safety standards (MUTCD).
- Understanding of and compliance with OSHA 1926 Construction Safety standards.
Starting salary ranges between $75,000 - $125,000 annually based upon experience.
