Position Summary:
The Data Specialist is responsible for data management including review, compilation, and quality control of data collected from nonclinical research studies. The Data Specialist works closely with the Nonclinical Project Managers to compile results into a final report or final project deliverable to study Sponsor.
Essential Functions:
- Compiles weekly data updates, including raw data and appropriate graphs to provide to study Sponsor.
- Responsible for quality control of all data acquired from nonclinical research studies.
- Summarizes study data in study reports.
- Completes simple statistical analysis on collected data.
- Performs critical assessment of data to ensure data accuracy.
- Compiles data received from third party analyses, including creating graphical representations as needed.
- Develops streamlined processes for data QC and reporting to study Sponsors to support department growth.
- Acts as liaison for troubleshooting animal management software program.
- Involved in pre-study preparation including quality review of study documentation.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in a science-related field and 2 years related work experience.
Required Specialized/Technical Skills:
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in the use of Microsoft applications, including strong understanding of Excel functions.
- Experience with scientific data entry and QA/QC review.
- Experience in scientific writing.
- Strong attention to detail, highly organized, and able to set priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with animal management software, GraphPad Prism, and statistics.
