Job Overview:
We are seeking dedicated individuals to join our team as Correctional Officers. As a Correctional Officer, you will play a vital role in maintaining safety and security within our correctional facility. This position requires strong interpersonal skills, the ability to handle challenging situations, and a commitment to upholding the law.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor and supervise inmates to ensure compliance with facility rules and regulations
- Conduct routine inspections of cells, common areas, and inmate activities
- Respond to emergencies and maintain control during critical incidents
- Conduct searches for contraband items
- Escort inmates to various locations within the facility
- Maintain accurate records and write detailed reports on incidents, activities, and inmate behavior
- Collaborate with other staff members to ensure a safe and secure environment
Schedule:
-8 hr day Monday-Friday paid training (6.5 weeks)
-12 hr shifts once assigned
-Day/Night shifts
Requirements:
-No felonies or Class A/B misdemeanor convictions in last 3-10 years
-18 years or older
- High school diploma, GED equivalent, Homeschool certificate, evaluation for out of country education
- Knowledge of conflict management techniques and ability to de-escalate tense situations
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for report writing and inmate interactions
- Ability to work in a militarized environment with strict adherence to policies and procedures
