TDEC, a nationally recognized Business Processing Outsourcing (BPO) Organization, seeks an Information Specialist to support an agency in a hybrid/partial telework role based out of Gaithersburg, MD.
Summary:
TDEC is seeking an eager and customer service-driven Information Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be a critical thinker that will be responding to justice-related information requests and DOJ grant application questions from the criminal justice, victim services, and public safety communities in a call center environment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Answering first tier questions from the criminal justice, juvenile justice, and victim services field regarding a variety of justice-focused topics in a call center environment.
- Provide assistance to prospective grant applicants regarding eligibility, programmatic, and financial requirements of DOJ grant opportunities.
- Ensure excellent customer care to guarantee questions are answered accurately and in a timely manner.
- Appropriately documenting customer interactions in databases.
- Maintaining a strong working knowledge of justice issues, news, research, technical assistance resources, and grant application requirements.
- Informing customers of helpful resources and informational mailing lists from the government and professional organizations.
- Providing empathetic support and coordinating helpful guidance and referrals to assist victims of crime.
- Maintain content in online knowledgebases and websites.
Qualifications/ Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field (or equivalent relevant experience).
- Strong business writing and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent customer engagement skills.
- Strong online research and analytical skills.
- Must be a self-starter with the ability to multi-task in a high-volume environment.
- This position requires U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain a security clearance.
Desired Skills
- Up to two years of experience in a criminal justice setting and/or grants management experience is preferred.
