What are the responsibilities and job description for the Facilities Manager position at TDK-Lambda Americas?
As a Facility Manager, you play an essential role by managing the design, planning, construction and maintenance of the ISO14001 certified building and other assigned company facilities. Plans, budgets, and schedules facility modifications including estimates on equipment, labor materials, and other related costs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES & AUTHORITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Maintains building, including plumbing, electrical wiring, and other related maintenance activities. Notifies management concerning need for major repairs or additions.
- Maintains ISO14001 certification.
- Designs and develops facility policies relevant to the department.
- Oversee the coordination of building space allocation and layout and facilities expansion.
- Plans budgets and schedule facility modifications, including cost estimates and obtaining quotes for approved projects.
- Inspects construction and installation progress.
- Initiate planned maintenance programs for a variety of office equipment.
- Responsible for preventive maintenance of facility equipment, including HVAC, office equipment, etc.
- Oversee Cleaning, Security and Maintenance of Facility.
- Develop and administer annual facilities budget.
- Performs role as Environmental Management System (EMS) Facility Supervisor.
- Negotiates contracts with and supervises all outside contractors.
- Participates in the onsite safety program.
- Selects, develops and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the department.
- Participate in the CTPAT certification process.
- Travel as necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR A FACILITY MANAGER
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent; or five plus years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Certified Facility Manager a plus
- Electrical experience a plus
- Minimum of 3 years managing a facility with supervisory experience
- Experience in an ISO certified facility
- Experience in maintenance trades, business codes
- Require strong supervisory skills with excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Project management skills required
- Ability to multi-task
