Telecommunications Outside Plant Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Install and splice fiber optic cables using fusion splicers and OTDRs to meet TDS standards.
• Test and document the quality of installed fibers, ensuring they meet performance requirements.
• Collaborate with construction teams, suppliers, and property owners to coordinate project tasks and avoid disputes.
• Read and interpret construction plans to determine the best approach for completing fiber splicing work.

Physical Requirements:

• Climbing poles, ladders, towers, and other structures as needed.
• Ability to kneel, dig, lift, and pull equipment.
• Working in attics and crawl spaces, or high-risk areas such as high voltage electrical, trenches, and manholes.
