Sand Point Services (SPS) is recruiting for the position of Assistant Project Superintendent. This is a regular, full-time position located in Columbus, GA. This position reports to the Project Manager.
JOB SUMMARY:
Under the direct supervision of the Project Manager, assist with the responsibilities of project superintendence, management of field personnel and subcontractors, quality control compliance and documentation with project plans and specifications. With oversight from Project Manager ensure customer requirements are met with consistency resulting in customer satisfaction. Ensure that the work on each project is performed with the expectations for quality workmanship, safety and professionalism. Every project is to be completed in accordance with the project plans and specifications, on schedule and under budget.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Provide support to the Project Manager with the overall management and coordination of Task Order Projects assigned.
- In the absence of the Project Manager, serve as the Subcontractors and craftspeople central point of contract for the day-to-day operations.
- Ensure a thorough understanding and knowledge of contract plans and specifications.
- Under the direction of the Project Manager, provide support in the planning, scheduling, conducting and coordinating the technical and management aspects of projects – utilizes two-week look-ahead schedules.
- Assist with budget monitoring and trend tracking to controls expenditures within limitations of project budget.
- Monitor work performed; analyze performance and establish corrective actions and controls.
- Anticipates potential schedule or priority delays and plans for alternative actions.
- Provide assistance with reviewing project status weekly with the sub-contractors and assist in managing project scope, timeline, and budget.
- Respond to off-duty recalls to meet priority or emergency work requirements.
- Advises Project Manager of project status on a regular basis.
- Assist in the preparation of project daily reports, weekly progress, monthly status and final project reports.
- Provide daily reports to project Manager on all activities Assistant Project Manager is involved in each day.
- Provide leadership to ensure that work is performed in accordance with contract plans and specifications.
- Support QC testing requirements are followed and document results.
- Provide support to the Project Manager/Project Manager with the management and leadership of subcontractors.
- Examine subcontractor means and methods, material delivery schedules and identify constraints.
- Assist in reviews of vendor and subcontractor invoices for accuracy and verification of percentage complete.
- Perform other duties as assigned to meet business needs.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 5 years Assistant Project Manager experience in construction, renovation, demolition and/or environmental projects.
- Experience including organization, management, administration, quality control and health and safety. Experience with scheduling personnel, equipment and material resources, understanding of financial management and general accounting requirements.
- Ability to work extended work schedules as required supporting the project execution plans and schedules.
- Professional demeanor in person, online, and via phone with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- U.S. citizenship or U.S permanent resident status required.
- A valid drivers' license issued by state of residence and in good standing. Must not have any reckless driving or DUI within the past ten years.
- Will be required to pass facility security clearance investigation.
