Job Overview
The Sr Manager - Global PMO Leader will report to the Director of Strategic Engineering and will be responsible for the global NPD PMO team across all medical, including Assemblies and Components PBUs for our Medical Device portfolio. The leader will manage a team of PMO leaders composed of Portfolio leaders linked to Assemblies or Components PBUs and Regional team leaders. The Global PMO leader will drive team performance and development, resource planning, portfolio prioritization, staffing, risk management, and communication as well as execution of the entire project portfolio.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead a team of 35-40 project managers with 5 direct reports, overseeing project execution globally for the Medical project portfolio.
- Plan and coordinate PMO resources to support the overall strategy, working with cross-functional partners to coordinate global project resources.
- Track and communicate project execution KPIs to ensure on-time, on-scope, and on-budget project delivery via a project dashboard. Prioritize projects with PBUs.
- Adapt / challenge traditional approaches to enhance quality or value in existing methods.
- Assess risk and compliance across the project’s portfolio.
- Frequently interact with multiple organizational levels.
- Establish PMO budget, providing input into capital expenditures and project / department budgets planning and management.
- Interact with customers to scope, quote, and progress report on project performance objectives.
- Conduct project deep dives to ensure on-time, on-budget, and on-scope delivery. As a PMO SME, provide coaching on resolving key issues that directly impact project execution and PMO team.
- Hold core teams accountable to schedule and deliverables.
- Track lessons learned and manage best practices.
- Coach the team and participate in PBU Phase Gate Reviews and host the Medical Leadership Team (MLT) gate review.
- Ensure compliance with Product Lifecycle tools and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with PMO processes, procedures, and use of PMO templates and documentation.
