Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Assembly Teams operate assigned automated assembly machinery, ensure component flow, troubleshoot and correct machinery issues to ensure quality and productivity. They perform changeovers and setups according to production schedule, perform quality checks according to established processes and document the results as required by our quality procedures. Every team member is responsible for maintaining housekeeping and organization of the work area as well as following TE Connectivity's EH&S policies and procedures.

Primary responsibilities include :

  • Polish and test fiber optic cables
  • Assemble and package fiber optic connector components
  • Operate fiber router & complete over-molding process.
  • Support prototype product builds, test product builds, pre-release NPI builds
  • Measure components using calipers, gages, or other measuring devices.
  • Complete necessary operational paperwork required to maintain the traceability of product.
  • Troubleshoot and perform minor repairs to equipment
  • Understand and demonstrate cleaning methods and contamination assessment for optical assembly
  • Termination of various standard fiber optic termini as well new termini designs
  • Perform IL & RL testing of various configurations of cable assemblies.
  • Perform EFG & IPC (workmanship) checks on both single & multi-fiber termini
  • Safely & efficiently operate equipment (E-Stop / Soft Stop) and identify issues
  • Assist in the estimation process step durations.
  • Assist in setting-up new manufacturing processes.
  • Suggest process changes to improve overall manufacturing efficiencies
  • Communicate within a team atmosphere to ensure clarity of purpose & Customer satisfaction
  • After training period of 30 days, works with minimal supervision and is proficient in providing timely and accurate products according to skills matrix
  • Use of Fiber Optic & Electronic Test Equipment : Optical Power Meters, IL / RL Test, Oscilloscope, DMM (Digital Multi Meter), Variable Power Supplies, Variable Attenuators, Optical & RF Switch
  • Train new and existing team members on products, process, and procedures.
  • Inspect own work and products using quality standards, work instructions and prints.
  • Credibility - takes responsibility for his / her own work. Respects confidential information and concerns shared by others.
  • Available to work overtime to support production goals as needed

What your background should look like :

  • High School diploma or GED required
  • Minimum 2 years manufacturing experience required
  • Minimum 1 year experience in a fiber optic manufacturing environment required
  • Must have good time management skills to work on numerous projects simultaneously
  • Attention to Detail (following bill of material, Routers, and understanding drawings / prints)
  • Proficient Dexterity & Motor Skills for intricate / delicate work
  • Experience using electronic testing equipment such as Oscilloscope, DMM (Digital Multi Meter), Variable Power Supplies preferred
  • SAP Manufacturing & ISO 9001 experience is preferred
  • Excel skills to record, organize, & analyze data
  • Some post high school technical courses preferred
  • Familiarity of AutoCAD or similar program
  • Must be able to move materials weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to remain in stationary position 75% of the time
  • Must be able to operate machinery
  • Must be able to move between work zones
  • Must be proficient and able to understand written instructions in English language

    COMPENSATION

  • Competitive base salary commensurate with experience : $43,492.80 - $50,502.40 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
  • Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience / qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
  • Total Compensation = Base Salary Incentive(s) Benefits
