Short Description
- Use of simulation tools and material test equipment and methods
- Experience in product development, with understanding of product lifecycle and phase gate development processes

- Creating actionable recommendations based on research, design reviews and test/simulation results
- Making data-driven decisions about product functionality and areas for improvement.
- Technical Leadership: Lead multiple advanced technology projects from concept through transfer, ensuring alignment with customer requirements, market trends, and industry standards. Convert customer, market and industry trends into technical roadmap recommendations.
- Innovation & Development: Serve as the team’s subject matter expert on polymer materials development including new compounds for enhanced performance and regulatory compliance. Expertise in polymer processing including extrusion, molding, and heat shrink tubing.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Interface directly with development engineers, customers, product managers, sales, manufacturing engineering, and other cross-functional team members to ensure successful project delivery. Manage project timelines and budgets, ensuring deliverables are met and clearly communicated to stakeholders.
- Design & Analysis: Use simulation tools, 3D CAD, and material testing methods to design and analyze polymer components. Lead design of experiments and process studies to support development efforts.
- Documentation & Compliance: Develop and maintain engineering documentation, including design specifications, validation test plans, qualification reports, and project timelines. Ensure compliance with relevant medical device regulations and quality processes.
- Mentorship: Act as a technical leader, mentoring and coaching junior engineers. Provide guidance and ensure successful knowledge transfer within the team.
- Market Insight: Stay informed on industry trends and customer needs and convert this knowledge into actionable recommendations for the product development roadmap.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 8 years of relevant work experience, or equivalent practical experience, with a preference for experience in medical device development.
- Material Expertise: In-depth knowledge of polymer materials science, including extrusion, molding, and heat shrink tubing fabrication or a willingness to learn and develop expertise in these areas.
- Analytical tools: Proficiency in design and analysis tools such as simulation software and 3D CAD. Understanding and use of material testing equipment. Strong ability to interpret simulation and lab data to identify and solve technical problems.
- Project Leadership: Proven experience in technical leadership of cross-functional projects.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with internal teams, customers, and external partners
- Global Collaboration: Drive collaboration with teams across multiple geographies. Comfortable working in different time zones, and fluent in English (verbal and written).
- Self-Motivation: Highly motivated, quick to learn, and able to work independently while contributing to team success.
- Familiarity with catheter-based medical device design and function.
- Knowledge of medical device regulatory requirements.
- Certification or experience with Design for Six Sigma or similar methodologies.

Compensation
- Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $141,400 - $212,200 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
- Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
