Job Summary :
The Teacher's Aide in Early Education assists the lead teacher in managing a safe, nurturing, and engaging classroom environment for children 18 months to 5 years. This position supports the development of social, emotional, physical, and cognitive skills by providing individual and group activities, maintaining classroom routines, and promoting positive interactions.
Key Responsibilities :
- Assist the lead teacher in daily classroom activities, including preparing materials and setting up learning stations
- Support children during instructional and play activities, ensuring active engagement
- Help supervise children during free play, group activities, and outdoor time, ensuring safety at all times
- Assist in reinforcing lessons introduced by the teacher and offering additional support to children who need extra help
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom environment
- Monitor children's behavior and provide feedback to the lead teacher regarding individual progress and areas of concern
- Encourage positive social interactions among children and assist with conflict resolution
- Help with the preparation and distribution of snacks and meals, adhering to food safety standards
- Perform administrative tasks such as attendance tracking, organizing materials, and filing student records
- Follow all school policies and procedures to ensure a safe learning environment
- Willing to travel to various school sites (must be able to travel a minimum of 10 miles)

The working conditions and physical demands of this position will be those that must be met to successfully perform the essential duties of the position. The physical environment the incumbent will work in is typically a pre-school environment with moderate noise levels that would be expected in that type of work environment. Outdoor and indoor supervision of playgrounds / workplace for on-going periods occurs regularly. Lift and carry at least 25 lbs. or more. Maintain visual of children, hear, communicate, speak, comprehend, walk, sit, kneel, crawl, carry, push, pull, activities indoor and outdoor as needed in an environment with children and adults.
