Tutor Job Description with TEACH in Camden, NJ
For the past 10 years, TEACH has been supporting students 1-on-1 and in small group settings with exceptional academic, test prep, and enrichment lessons. Our strong connections to local schools and non-profit organizations offer unique opportunities for tutor contractors to be classroom instructors in addition to providing local families with 1-on-1 support. At TEACH we believe tutoring can be a bridge that helps make content more accessible for all students.
We are looking for dedicated and enthusiastic educators who are ready to dismantle educational barriers that students and families face and open up educational opportunities through tutoring.
SAT Test Prep Instructor :
We are looking for 11th grade verbal SAT prep instructor working with groups ranging from 4 to 14. This is a part time employee position.
1-2 years of experience in 1-on-1 or in a small group / classroom setting / test prep instruction
Interest in tutoring with TEACH for 1 years
Available to travel locally in Camden, NJ for in-person lessons
Ability to complete federal and NJ state background checks and clearances
A zest for learning and the spark to share and build knowledge with students!
Preferred Qualifications
A masters in education and / or additional certification in reading or math
2-5 years of experience tutoring or teaching in a 1-on-1, small group, or classroom setting
Understanding of student-centered learning practices and high impact tutoring
Tutor Responsibilities
Prepare engaging lessons and materials to meet students' needs. A curriculum is available!
Connect with students from diverse backgrounds and educational experiences to maximize their academic potential and to help them achieve their goals
Communicate with TEACH office staff and parents / guardians to coordinate tutoring lessons and check-in about student progress in a punctual manner and with attention to detail.
Submit time-sensitive information using our database and other online documentation
