The Role

As an online ESL instructor, the primary duty is to teach students in an engaging manner. Teachers must be self-driven, energetic, and be sensitive toward an education culture that differs from the USA.

The Classes

We work with classrooms and schools throughout Indonesia, and are part of their mandatory English program during their school day.

Requirements

This role is remote and USA-based for teachers who are living in any state except: who are living in any state except: Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Washington, or Washington DC.

• Education: Associate degree minimum

The Block Schedule

Our teaching hours start in the evening, and vary depending on your time zone. Teachers can choose a block of time that falls within their listed time frame. Typically, blocks are four hours per day (20 hours per week), but teachers can do more or fewer.

BLOCK SCHEDULE

Below are our shift availabilities.* You can start and end your block shift at any point between the listed times. Most of our teachers choose a four hour block schedule.

Eastern Time Shifts:

• Sunday - Thursday: 7 p.m. - 2 a.m.

Central Time Shifts:

• Sunday - Thursday: 6 p.m. - 1 a.m.

Mountain Time Shifts:

• Sunday - Thursday: 5 p.m. - 12 a.m.

Pacific Time Shifts:

• Sunday - Thursday: 4 p.m. - 11 p.m.

Hawaii Time Shifts:

• Sunday - Thursday: 2 p.m. - 9 p.m.

• Note: the block shift moves forward one hour when returning to Daylight Savings Time in Spring 2025.

Technology Requirements:
Instructors must meet our broadband and computer standards to teach from home.

• Bandwidth: Minimum speeds of 3 Mbps upload and 3 Mbps download are required, WiFi or hardwired.
• Computer Specs:

• Processor must be 2.0 GHz (dual core), 2.8 GHz (single core), or better

• Memory (RAM): 4 GB or more

• Allowed Operating Systems: PC: Windows 10 or newer OR Mac: OS X 10.11 or newer
