Position Summary:
The Graphic Designer plays a key role in developing visually engaging print and digital educational materials tailored for the PK-12 market. This position requires a deep understanding of grade-level design appropriateness, with the ability to adapt design aesthetics to support age-appropriate learning experiences. Driven by a passion for education, the designer contributes to creating inspiring content that fosters a love of learning, ensuring visual clarity, creativity, and accessibility across all materials and platform to create a world in which children love to learn.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Design and develop a wide range of print and digital educational materials, ensuring effective and creative content delivery.

Create innovative and original designs while maintaining high-quality standards, adhering to project timelines, and aligning with the company’s creative vision.

Adhere to established style guides and design processes, ensuring consistency and accuracy across all projects.

Typeset educational content by transforming manuscripts into InDesign layouts, applying advanced page formatting techniques for consistency, clarity, and visual precision. Accurately make required text changes to production rounds and provide constructive design adjustments.

Develop marketing assets, digital content, and corporate materials that effectively represent the brand and its mission.

Perform photo research using approved stock photo sites.

Collaborate closely with the Editorial team, fostering effective communication and constructive feedback, while efficiently managing each round of production.

Collaborate closely with the Production team to prepare and deliver accurate, print-ready files that meet technical and quality standards.

Make strategic design decisions regarding photos, illustrations, graphics, layouts, formatting, colors, fonts, and other design elements to ensure alignment with project samples and educational goals.

Maintain well-organized digital archives of all project files, ensuring accuracy of the latest versions on the company server, following clear file-naming conventions and accessibility standards for streamlined collaboration and efficient asset retrieval.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design or a related field, or equivalent professional experience with formal graphic design training.

Minimum 3 years of experience in print and digital design.

Strong typesetting and formatting skills (converting Word manuscript to IDD text flow using style sheets, parent pages, sectioning, creating figures, tables, charts, and worksheets, etc…).

Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) and MacOS systems.

Strong understanding of typesetting, typography and page layout development.

Understanding of licensing requirements for fonts and images.

Highly self-motivated with strong attention to detail, exceptional organizational skills, clear communication abilities, and the capacity to manage multiple tasks effectively.

Portfolio submission required, showcasing a range of conceptual designs and typesetting work.
Physical Requirements:

Sit for extended periods of time; including at a computer.

Repetitive hand and wrist movements for frequent use of computer keyboard and mouse.
Work Conditions:
General office environment.
