Seeking: Experienced Assistant Teacher for Inclusive Preschool Classroom (Ages 3-4)
About the Role:
We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated Assistant Teacher with significant experience working with children on the autism spectrum. Join our inclusive preschool team and play a vital role in creating a supportive and engaging learning environment for children aged 3-4. Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the lead teacher to develop and implement lesson plans tailored to the needs of children with autism and other developmental needs.
- Provide a nurturing environment that supports students’ social, emotional, and cognitive development.
- Incorporate strategies and teaching methods that accommodate various learning styles and developmental levels.
- Conduct observations to monitor progress and assist in adjusting instructional approaches as needed.
- Communicate effectively with parents and caregivers to ensure each child’s individual needs are met.
- Support children with daily routines, including meals and bathroom assistance.
- Foster an inclusive classroom environment where all children feel valued and respected.
Qualifications:
- Extensive experience working with children on the autism spectrum in a preschool, classroom, or therapeutic setting.
- Knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) techniques or similar intervention strategies (preferred).
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Special Education, or a related field (preferred).
- Strong understanding of child development principles and inclusive teaching practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Certification in CPR and First Aid (preferred).
- Patience, creativity, and a passion for helping children succeed.
