The Assistant Principal of Curriculum & Instruction is a key figure in the instructional leadership of the Elementary School, directly shaping the academic success of its students. This 12-month position reports directly to the Principal and holds significant responsibility for overseeing teachers and the Instructional Leadership Team to ensure the school's academic programs align with the broader K-12 mission and vision.

- Provide ongoing support to teachers in classroom instruction and curriculum planning
- Lead the development and execution of a rigorous, standards-aligned curriculum rooted in New York State guidelines and reflective of culturally and historically responsive practices
- Champion equity by ensuring all students have access to the tools and environment necessary for success, fostering an inclusive learning atmosphere
- Collaborate with school leaders and teachers to strengthen their expertise in planning, instruction, and assessment
- Guarantee high-quality instruction through regular observation and targeted instructional coaching, ensuring teachers are fully equipped to deliver exceptional learning experiences
Qualifications:
- An M.A., Ed.M. or Master's degree in Educational Leadership, Teaching or relevant content area
- A passion for urban education and a commitment to LION's mission
- A minimum of five years of demonstrated success in elementary school teaching, preferably in a high-performing, urban school setting
- A commitment to equity and antiracism work by reinforcing a culture that supports an anti-biased, anti-racist and culturally responsive environment.
- Deep belief in constructivist learning theory and student-centered instruction
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex systems of data, resources, and information in a systematic way
- Expertise in K-2 content areas is preferred
- Compensation: $ 130,00.00 - $ 140,000.00 Annually
