Position Overview
The RFP Proposal Writer will assist Teaching Strategies' business development efforts by supporting the new business capture process, building the pipeline of district contracting opportunities, coordinating internal flows and reviews of proposal inputs, preparing proposal responses, and directing the production of the final proposal. The RFP Proposal Writer will review proposal requirements, write proposal responses, partner with Sales Managers and Sales Representatives to collect various proposal components, and edit narratives to ensure grammatical accuracy, formatting standards, and compliance of outgoing proposals.
Specific Roles & Responsibilities:
- Reviews RFP opportunities, writes responses, compiles, edits, and submits mid-level district and Cooperative RFPs
- Supports the Sales and Sales Operations Teams in the day-to-day operations of the proposal submission process including the development of work plans, schedules and milestones
- Identifies district-level contracting opportunities and participate in the screening process for bid/no-bid decisions
- Monitors district websites and assist in the process of becoming an approved district vendor
- Reads and understands RFPs and other forms of competitive opportunities from clients and prospective clients
- Reviews district solicitation documents and develops the proposal outline, compliance matrix, and final response
- Manages the existing Cooperative contracts and reports out regularly on connected sales
- Organizes proposal content and information in the format requested in solicitations and in accordance with standards in preparation for review and/or submission
- Interfaces with RFP Project Manager to ensure consistency, compliance, and accuracy of messages across proposal lifecycle
- Supports cross-functional collaboration with project management software and data analysis tools
- Arranges for delivery and submission of district proposals
- Maintains electronic copies of submitted proposals
- Assists with special projects requested by Sales, Sales Operations, Senior Management, or Legal teams
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in English, Communications or other related fields required
- 5-7 years of proposal-related writing and coordination experience, or similar operational experience required
- Previous experience in education strongly preferred
- Previous experience with search engines such as RFPSchoolWatch
- Excellent written and oral communication skills required
- Highly proficient in MS Office suite
- Must be independently motivated and schedule-driven with a proven history of meeting deadlines
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple assignments with tight deadlines while remaining flexible to adapt to new situations as they arise
- Detail-oriented with the ability to take on multiple projects in an organized and creative manner
- Must demonstrate initiative and the ability to exercise sound independent judgment
- Must be energetic and client-service orientated
- Experience working in a fast-paced, high-growth technology or new media environment is a plus
- Proven ability to build strong relationships with internal teams and clients
