Job Title: Resource Development Director
Organization Overview: Since 1970, Teaching Tree has been dedicated to making a positive impact on our community by providing quality, affordable, early childhood care for families of all socio-economic and cultural backgrounds. We heavily rely on fundraising to sustain our programs and services, and we are seeking a Director of Development to lead our fundraising efforts.
Serving nearly 600 families a year, Teaching Tree is Larimer County’s largest nonprofit childcare center serving low-income families and is one of the only centers providing affordable care for families who are working toward self-sufficiency.
Position Overview: The Resource Development Director will be responsible for planning and implementing a comprehensive fundraising program that includes major gifts, corporate and foundation giving, planned giving, and special events. The candidate will work closely with the Executive Director and Board of Directors to develop fundraising goals and strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
· Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising plan to help meet the organization’s annual revenue goals.
· Identify and cultivate major gift prospects, as well as corporate and foundation donors, individuals, corporations, foundations, and other private, public entities via annual giving, memorial gifts, major gifts, planned giving initiatives and endowment building activities.
· Plan and execute special events that engage donors and raise funds for the organization.
· Network and maintain regular correspondence with donors.
· Develop and manage alumni relations program, initiating and implementing strategies for engaging alumni and families and increasing/retaining their support.
· Lead marketing efforts and collaborate with Communications team regarding (website, social media, email, and print marketing) to solicit donations.
· Work closely with the Board of Directors and Executive Director to develop fundraising strategies and goals.
· Oversee donor database management system and analyze fundraising data to evaluate performance and adjust strategies as needed.
· Prepare and present regular reports on progress towards fundraising goals.
· Identify and communicate new grant opportunities with grant writer.
· Recruit, retain and recognize volunteers to help achieve the organization’s mission.
· Participate in community networking events relevant to the organization’s mission and fundraising goals.
· Act as a liaison between the organization and the general public in order to promote a positive public image of the institution and strengthen community relations.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, business administration, or related field.
· Minimum of 3 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, with a proven track record of success in major gifts, corporate and foundation giving, and special events.
· Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
· Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, Board Members, and volunteers.
· Experience with fundraising software, donor databases and email marketing.
· A deep commitment to the mission and values of our organization.
· Applied understanding of basic fundraising principles and development best practices.
· Willingness and ability to work irregular hours when necessary.
· Must possess a valid driver’s license.
Work Hours and Salary: Full-time, 40 hours/week. Weekly hours may vary. Annual salary ranges $75,000-$85,000, depending on experience.

Working Environment: The Resource Development Director will work out of our offices in Fort Collins and Loveland. This role will also involve occasional travel to engage with donors in diverse settings throughout the community.
