Sioux Center Community School District is seeking a highly motivated 7th Grade Language Arts Teacher beginning with the 2025-2026 school year.
Position Overview: We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Middle School Language Arts Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in language arts education, a commitment to fostering a positive learning environment, and a desire to inspire young minds. Qualifications include appropriate state teaching licensure and certification.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (minimum)
- Iowa Teaching License (with appropriate endorsements)
- Mandatory Reporter: Child Abuse
- Mandatory Reporter: Dependent Adult Abuse
Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons for middle school students.
- Create a supportive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages student participation and learning.
- Use a variety of teaching methods and resources to accommodate diverse learning styles.
- Assess and evaluate student progress, providing constructive feedback and support as needed.
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to develop and implement curriculum enhancements.
- Supervise and participate in extracurricular activities and field trips as required.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance and attendance.
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians to discuss student progress and address any concerns.
- Stay current with developments in education and incorporate innovative teaching techniques.
- Perform all other related duties as assigned.
