We are seeking a dedicated Special Education Instructional Strategist to join our elementary and middle school team. This position involves providing specialized instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs while collaborating with general education teachers, staff, and families to ensure student success.
Essential Responsibilities
- Design and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with various disabilities, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations
- Provide specialized instruction in both resource room and inclusive classroom settings, adapting teaching methods and materials to meet individual student needs
- Conduct regular assessments of student progress and maintain detailed documentation of student performance, behavior, and development
- Collaborate with general education teachers to modify curriculum and provide accommodations that support student success in mainstream classes
- Coordinate and lead IEP meetings with parents, administrators, and other team members to review student progress and update educational plans
- Supervise and train paraprofessionals working with special education students
- Manage student behavior using positive behavior intervention strategies and crisis intervention techniques when necessary
