Instructional Coach (Half Time)
(Elementary) 1 Position-half time
The Instructional Coach works collaboratively with the administrators, teacher leaders, and instructional staff to facilitate the implementation of Lone Tree School's Collective Commitment Statements with a focus on the following:
- Professional development, specifically explicit instruction, differentiation, and vocabulary
- Data collection and analysis
- Multi-Tier System of Supports
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to) the following:
- Develop trusting and supportive relationships with all staff.
- Collaborate closely with all instructional staff to provide guidance, training, and professional development.
- Instruct and support teachers to implement instructional strategies for engaging students and improving student learning.
- Work collaboratively with teachers and administrators to develop, communicate, and accomplish the district's goals.
- Develop foundational knowledge of content area standards to assist all teachers.
- Assist teachers in identifying their professional improvement goals that support the achievement of district goals.
- Assist in the data analysis to advance both teacher learning and effective classroom practice.
- Work with all instructional staff to model lessons and strategies when appropriate.
- Provide guidance, support, and modeling in classroom management, assessment, data analysis, and explicit instruction.
- Assist teachers with decisions based on assessment data and how instructional changes can be made through the intervention structure.
- Responsible for collaborating with administrators and the leadership team to plan professional development for instructional staff.
- Model and reinforce professional norms.
- Participate in routine meetings to support the administration as part of the Building/District Leadership Team, contributing to building-level planning and decision-making.
Job Requirements:
- Iowa Standard Teaching License with three years of teaching experience and at least one year of experience in the Lone Tree School District.
- Experience in research-based instructional strategies to improve student achievement.
- Committed to supporting others' professional development.
- Strong human relations skills and experience working with new, mid-career, and veteran teachers to increase student achievement.
Number of Positions: (MS/HS-1) (Elem-1)
Time Out of Classroom: (50%)
Extra Contract Days: Eight (8) additional days as coordinated with the Principals
Compensation: $4,000
Additional Training: Additional training during the school year may be determined in collaboration with the building principals.
Supervisor: Building Principal
Evaluation: All teacher leadership positions will be evaluated annually to provide opportunities for reflection, dialogue, and feedback for continued professional growth.
