What are the responsibilities and job description for the Elementary Music Teacher position at TeachIowa?
Sacred Heart School seeks an elementary music teacher for the 2025-26 school year. The position is part time and we would be happy to work with other area schools to combine roles to create a full-time position. Interested candidates should be Iowa-certified (or will obtain teacher certification), should have a deep passion for teaching young learners, and should be a model of character and citizenship for our students. The ideal candidate for this position should be able to:
- Create a class environment where Catholic values and teachings are the priority.
- Provide students with foundational music skills, share a love of music, and invite students to participate in making music.
- Plan and prepare student programs for parents and school community
- Be flexible and willing to help out as they work as part of a team.
- Establish good relationships with students, parents, and other staff members.
