The General Maintenance Worker is responsible for performing general maintenance and repairs. This position requires a hands-on approach to maintaining buildings grounds and equipment, with a focus on teamwork, reliability, and a willingness to learn. This role also includes potential on-call responsibilities for emergency situations, including snow removal.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine and preventative maintenance on building systems (plumbing, electrical, HVAC) and general facility upkeep.
- Assist with basic carpentry, painting, drywall repairs, and other building maintenance as needed.
- Support outdoor maintenance tasks, including landscaping, snow removal, mowing, and clearing walkways and parking lots.
- Mowing and maintaining mowing equipment.
- Assist in maintenance of cleaning equipment in buildings.
- Respond to maintenance requests from staff, ensuring prompt and effective resolution of issues.
- Replace light bulbs, air filters, and other consumables as necessary to maintain equipment and systems.
- Assist with setting up and preparing school facilities for events, activities, and meetings.
- Participate in safety inspections and adhere to district policies to maintain a safe working environment.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring tools and supplies are properly stored.
- Work collaboratively with the Maintenance Supervisor and team to complete daily tasks and special projects.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor.
- Will help out with custodial responsibilities as needed.
