Head Varsity Girls Basketball Coach

Xavier High School, a premier Catholic institution with a strong tradition of excellence in girls’ basketball, is seeking a dedicated and dynamic Head Varsity Girls’ Basketball Coach for the 2025-2026 school year.

The Head Varsity Girls’ Basketball Coach will lead the varsity team while overseeing the entire basketball program, including JV1 and JV2 teams. This position requires a committed leader who can develop student-athletes both on and off the court while upholding the values of Xavier High School.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide high-level coaching and instruction to the varsity team.
• Develop and oversee the entire girls’ basketball program, ensuring continuity from JV2 to varsity levels.
• Support and mentor JV1 and JV2 team coaches to create a cohesive program.
• Teach the skills, strategies, and fundamentals of the game to enhance player development.
• Foster a positive and competitive team culture that promotes sportsmanship, teamwork, and personal growth.
• Communicate effectively with players, parents, assistant coaches, the athletic director, and officials.
• Uphold and instill Catholic values in all aspects of the program.

Qualifications:

• Iowa Coaching Endorsement or Coaching Authorization (required).
• Previous head coaching experience preferred.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
• A passion for mentoring and developing student-athletes.
