What are the responsibilities and job description for the High School Night Custodian position at TeachIowa?
Primary Function: To provide students with a safe, attractive, comfortable, clean and efficient place in which to learn and develop.
Responsibilities:
Remove all trash and recyclables to dumpster on daily basis.
Dry mop/wet mop or vacuum classrooms daily.
Sweep/wet mop steps daily.
Sweet and power scrub corridors daily (must be willing to learn how to use scrub machines).
Dust and maintain lockers.
Disinfect restrooms, sanitary bags, sinks and hand dryers daily. Check/change paper towels and toilet paper dispensers daily.
Must cover all school and extracurricular activities in buildings, may require weekends.
Must be able to complete small maintenance tasks (Changing light bulbs, replacing drinking fountain filters, replacing ceiling tile).
Is responsible for securing building windows and doors on a nightly basis.
May require snow removal and outdoor work as needed.
Be able to work well with others and take direction.
Must report any damage or vandalism to Director of Buildings and Grounds or Head Custodian.
