Responsibilities:
Cleaning and Sanitization:
- Clean and sanitize classrooms, offices, restrooms, hallways, locker rooms, gyms, and common areas.
- Dust, sweep, mop, vacuum, and wax/polish floors and surfaces.
- Clean windows, mirrors, and other glass surfaces.
- Empty trash cans and recycling bins, ensuring proper disposal.
Restroom Maintenance:
- Clean and disinfect restrooms, including toilets, sinks, and fixtures.
- Replenish restroom supplies such as toilet paper, soap, and paper towels.
- Ensure restrooms are maintained in a sanitary condition throughout the day.
Facility Upkeep:
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs, unclogging drains, and repairing minor damage.
- Clean gym floors and bleachers regularly.
- Report major maintenance and repair needs to the Custodial Supervisor
- Assist in set-up and tear-down for events, meetings, and special projects as needed.
Grounds Maintenance:
- Maintain the cleanliness of outdoor areas, including playgrounds, parking lots, and sidewalks.
- Remove trash, debris, and leaves from outdoor areas.
- Assist with snow removal, salting, and other seasonal maintenance as needed.
Safety and Compliance:
- Follow all safety protocols, including the proper use of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to health and safety.
- Report any safety hazards or concerns to the Custodial Supervisor.
Communication:
- Communicate effectively with school staff and administration regarding cleaning needs and maintenance issues.
- Respond to urgent cleaning requests and provide support for special events.
- Collaborate with the Custodial Supervisor to ensure the efficient operation of cleaning services.
Inventory Management:
- Assist Custodial Supervisor with monitoring and maintaining inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment.
- Request additional supplies as needed and ensure proper storage and use of materials to the Custodial Supervisor.
- Ensure cleaning equipment is maintained in good working condition.
- Ensure asset protection measures to reduce waste and inefficiency.
Additional Duties:
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Custodial Supervisor or school administration.
- Adapt to the changing needs of the school and the district.
Working Conditions:
- The position requires working in a variety of settings, including classrooms, offices, restrooms, and outdoor areas.
