What are the responsibilities and job description for the Staff Accountant position at TeachTown?
TeachTown is the leading provider of education solutions for students diagnosed with autism, developmental and intellectual disabilities, emotional disorders, and speech/language impairments. We are seeking a full-time (40 hours/week) Staff Accountant to support our Finance team in our HQ office. This is a hybrid position with an anticipated schedule of 2 days in the office (Mondays and Wednesdays) and the remaining hours remote. Only applicants who reside within a commuting distance (up to 1 hour one way) of Woburn, MA will be considered.
This role will be responsible for supporting the Finance team with analyzing orders, revenue recognition, month-end close tasks, and other tasks as needed.
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

Primary point of contact for order processing and revenue recognition - this includes and is not limited to: reviewing Salesforce data, creating contracts in our accounting system, adding subscription licenses to our platform, maintaining appropriate documentation, reviewing shipment information for physical goods, and more

Process vendor invoices, ensuring expense is captured in the correct category and department

Pay vendors in a timely manner throughout the month

Deposit and apply customer payments to the corresponding invoice(s)

Perform month-end close tasks as needed, including bank reconciliations and GL account reconciliations

Navigate Salesforce, Sage Intacct, and our company platform with ease after training

Assist with financial statement audit and other external requests

Perform additional ad hoc reconciliations and analyses as needed
Job Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting

0-2 years of experience in an accounting role

Working knowledge of Salesforce or a similar CRM tool

Strong data entry and organizational skills

High level of attention to detail (critical)

Proven ability to learn new systems quickly

Proven ability to work independently on assigned tasks as well as to accept direction on given assignments

Maintain confidentiality of sensitive company and client information.
