Port Operations Logistics Specialist
Job Summary:
A leading offshore wind project is seeking a Port Operations Logistics Specialist to oversee vessel and dock staging operations. This role requires a proactive and detail-oriented professional with strong planning, organization, and problem-solving skills. The ideal candidate will have experience managing multiple priorities, ensuring operational efficiency, and maintaining high safety and environmental standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Oversight & Coordination:
- Monitor dock, vessel, and berth conditions to ensure safe and efficient stevedore and lashing operations.
- Oversee vessel loading and unloading, verifying that labor and resources are allocated per vessel plans.
- Ensure accurate and timely execution of vessel load-in, load-out, and staging procedures.
- Provide real-time supervision of stevedore and staging operations, reporting any concerns that may impact efficiency or safety.
- Collaborate with the Port Operations team to identify and resolve operational challenges.
Safety & Compliance:
- Enforce site-specific safety protocols and environmental stewardship practices.
- Report any safety hazards or environmental concerns to ensure compliance with industry standards.
Reporting & Communication:
- Maintain detailed vessel shift logs, documenting activities, delays, and any safety or environmental issues.
- Attend and contribute to daily, weekly, and monthly meetings.
- Respond to technical inquiries related to port logistics and operations.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- 1-4 years of relevant experience in port operations, logistics, or materials management.
- Knowledge of industry standards, equipment management, and inventory controls.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Flexible schedule – must be available for rotating shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
