About the Position:
The Process Technician is responsible for assisting with tool changes, modifying existing processes, and answering alarms on the production floor.
Core Expectation:
Assist the production department in producing acceptable parts by solving processing issues and keeping equipment running properly.
Work Environment:
This position operates in a well-lit manufacturing environment around machinery that operates 24 hours a day. The production floor can get very warm during the summer months.
Physical Requirements:
The physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by a team member to successfully perform the essential functions of the position.
- Frequent reaching with hands and arms.
- Frequent lifting, bending, and stooping while carrying a load.
- Ability to stand and walk for an 8 hour shift.
- Ability to maneuver very heavy dies into a machine using a crane and properly tighten with a torque wrench.
- Ability to lift or maneuver 55 pounds.
Responsibilities and Duties
Essential Functions:
Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
- Assist Die Setter with tool changeovers as needed.
- Respond to alarms for presses and secondary equipment.
- Setup and troubleshoot end-of-arm tooling.
- Optimize processes for running parts that are experiencing quality issues.
- Complete required documentation for any process changes.
- Create maintenance work orders when necessary.
Qualifications and Skills
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma
- Previous experience in plastics processing.
- Understanding of injection molding processes and settings.
- Strong working knowledge of computers and applications.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience reading blueprints and part drawings.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to properly use hand tools.
Desired Qualifications:
- Formal injection molding training.
- Formal problem solving training and the ability to find root cause of issues.
- Degree in plastics processing.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $24.20 - $27.84 per hour
