Job Summary
The Environmental Services Technician plays a crucial role in maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment within healthcare facilities, hospitals, and commercial spaces. This position is responsible for performing various cleaning and sanitization tasks to ensure compliance with health and safety standards. The ideal candidate will demonstrate attention to detail, a commitment to cleanliness, and the ability to work efficiently in a team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine cleaning and sanitization of patient areas, hallways, restrooms, and common areas in accordance with established protocols.
  • Conduct floor care duties including sweeping and mopping.
  • Ensure all cleaning supplies and equipment are used properly and stored safely.
  • Follow OSHA regulations and safety guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the appropriate personnel promptly.
  • Assist in the disposal of waste materials according to established procedures.
  • Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and notify management when reordering is necessary.
  • Collaborate with other staff members to ensure high standards of cleanliness are met throughout the facility.

Skills

  • Proficient in custodial practices with experience in environmental services or commercial cleaning preferred.
  • Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques and sanitation methods specific to healthcare environments.
  • Familiarity with OSHA regulations related to workplace safety and hazardous materials handling.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow instructions accurately.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good communication skills for interacting with staff and patients respectfully.

This position is essential for ensuring the health and safety of all individuals within the facility through diligent cleaning practices and adherence to clinic and hospital sanitation standards.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $16.22 - $21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 4 – 10 per week
