Team Auto Group of Morganton is seeking a motivated and customer-focused Part-Time Parts Advisor to join our team! The Part-Time Parts Advisor will be responsible for assisting mechanics and customers in purchasing necessary parts and supplies, ensuring efficient parts operations within the dealership. This role involves achieving sales goals, maintaining accurate inventory, and providing exceptional customer service. The Part-Time Parts Advisor reports directly to the Parts Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Assist mechanics and customers in identifying and purchasing required automotive parts and accessories.
- Utilize parts catalogs (both print and electronic) to accurately identify the correct part(s) for specific vehicle makes, models, and years being serviced.
- Track and manage all incoming and outgoing parts inventory for the dealership, ensuring accuracy and organization.
- Locate and source available parts from other suppliers or dealerships when necessary to fulfill customer or mechanic needs.
- Handle parts payment collection, including processing transactions and ensuring accurate billing through the service department and collision repair shop.
- Prepare parts for shipping, including packaging and completing necessary documentation for returns to manufacturers or other destinations.
- Achieve monthly sales and gross profit forecasts as set by the Parts Manager.
- Actively seek out and solicit new and existing parts business to increase sales and profitability.
- Maintain a clean and organized parts department.
- Provide exceptional customer service to both internal (mechanics) and external customers.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Parts Advisor or in a similar role within the automotive industry is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of automotive parts and systems.
- Proficiency in using parts catalogs and computer systems.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy.
- Ability to lift and move parts as needed.
