One of Central PA's most comprehensive service providers for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is looking for Life Skills Instructors for their adult autism programs in their Hershey, PA location. This is an ideal position for behavioral health professionals passionate about providing hands-on personal, vocational, and therapeutic services to assist adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in gaining independence in their communities.
As a Life Skills Instructor, you will:
- Work both independently and alongside a team of behavioral health professionals providing self-care, communication, motor skills, relationship development, and socialization services for adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder in various community settings and workplaces
- Provide "hands-on" support for clients in Activities of Daily Living (ADL), implement the behavior plans and programs, and maintain professional relationships with the client's family and community partners
Education, Experience, and Training Requirements for a Life Skills Instructor:
- Required – High School Diploma
- Preferred – Bachelor's Degree or Associate's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Education, or other Human Services related field
- Previous experience working with children, adolescents, or adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) or other behavioral health disorders (therapeutic support staff, paraprofessionals, personal care assistants (PCA), special education teacher's aides, etc.)
- Required – A Valid PA Driver's license with a clean driving record and reliable transportation
- Willing to transport clients in your vehicle
