Who We're Looking For:
- Experienced: 5-10 years of drafting experience in the architectural industry required; at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role in the drafting field; experience with cast-in-place and steel drawings and prefabrication shop drawings for manufacturing facilities; a high school diploma required, tech school or college preferred.
- Strong Communicator: Excellent communication and collaboration skills, able to work in an open-concept office without needing constant guidance or excessive interactions.
- Detailed & Focused: Pays attention to detail and maintains concentration to ensure accuracy and meet deadlines.
- Analytical: Strong problem-solving skills and technical expertise in AutoCAD, Revit, and industry-specific precast concrete and prefab construction drafting methods.
- Adaptable: Willing to adjust and learn new methods in a changing work environment.
- Team Player: Approachable and professional when interacting with colleagues and clients while working well within a team to achieve shared goals.
- Computer Skills: Proficient in AutoCAD and REVIT; Bluebeam and Procore experience preferred.
Key Responsibilities of a Drafting Manager:
- Manage the schedule and assignments for the in-house senior and junior drafters.
- Assign drafting tasks based on experience and availability of in-house drafters.
- Determine when subcontracted drafters are necessary and oversee their work and schedule.
- Verify deliverables meet company quality standards and assignment deadlines.
- Uphold department standards, including procedures, hardware, and forms.
- Train junior drafters on company standards, AutoCAD, and REVIT.
- Perform checks on erection drawings, shop tickets, and bills of materials for accuracy and compliance with project requirements.
