- Train & mentor new staff and interns, fostering professional growth within the team.
- Complete embalming reports and associated documentation accurately and efficiently.
- Dress & casket remains, following the operations manual to present the deceased with dignity and professionalism.
- Maintain a clean and organized environment, including the prep room, general areas, and viewing spaces.
- Set up viewing areas at least one hour before services to ensure a welcoming atmosphere for families.
- Assist Funeral Directors during services, providing seamless support to honor the deceased and their loved ones.
- Transport the deceased from hospitals, nursing homes, residences, and other locations, ensuring safe and respectful handling.
- Work full-time, daytime hours with no on-call requirements, maintaining work-life balance in a meaningful career.

Our Ideal Embalmer/Funeral Director:
- Experienced: Brings at least 2 years of embalming experience; holds a degree from an accredited Mortuary School and a Pennsylvania Funeral Director license (or is eligible for licensure).
- Attention to Detail: Ensures every embalming and preparation meets the highest standards, honoring the deceased and fulfilling the wishes of their loved ones.
- Respectful & Professional: Maintains a professional appearance suitable for meeting with families and assisting during services, upholding the dignity of the profession.
- Empathetic & Supportive: Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills, offering comfort and understanding to grieving families.
- Team-Oriented: Collaborates well with coworkers, willingly trains interns and new staff, and is open to cross-training in other responsibilities to support the team.
- Physically Capable: Able to lift or maneuver up to 125 lbs., ensuring the safe and respectful handling of the deceased.
