- Enjoy consistent full-time hours up to 45 hours per week with a good work-life balance. Jobs are within a 75-mile radius – getting you home every night. Very little weekend work.
- Work a mix of private sector and prevailing wage jobs
- Lead & mentor a crew of 2-5 members, promoting a safe and efficient work environment
- Manage project timelines & costs and clearly communicate potential delays or issues
- Perform layout and surveying tasks in collaboration with the Project Manager
- Communicate daily activities, project goals, and safety procedures to crew, subcontractors, and material suppliers
- Serve as clients' main point of contact, keeping them informed of progress and proactively addressing any issues
- Read & interpret blueprints and plans, collaborating with the Project Manager to ensure accurate project execution
- Maintain job site safety in compliance with OSHA and company standards; consistently promote safety across all team members and subcontractors
- Keep accurate and organized project documentation using the tools provided (iPad, company phone)
- Help crew as needed to ensure project success

DESCCO Design & Construction is a family-owned business with over 45 years of experience in the construction industry. We specialize in industrial and commercial projects, including concrete work, footers, heavy highway construction, bridge work, and wastewater treatment foundations. We are looking for a Construction Foreman with previous experience in commercial or industrial construction who shares our values of quality, integrity, and teamwork.
Our Ideal Construction Foreman:
- Experience: 2 years of experience in commercial/industrial concrete work, focusing on large-scale projects. 2 years of experience as a foreman or supervisor is required.
- Technical Skills: Strong math skills for accurately measuring and calculating project requirements. Experience reading and interpreting blueprints and plans.
- Certifications: OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification (or willingness to complete).
- Leadership & Mentorship: Proven ability to lead a team, mentor less-experienced workers, and foster a collaborative, safety-focused environment.
- Problem Solver: Proactively anticipates project challenges and resolves them quickly.
- Professional Integrity: Always conduct themselves legally, ethically, and professionally.
- Hands-On: Willing to get involved in manual work and help the team with tasks as necessary.
- Physical Requirements: Able to climb, bend, stoop, kneel, lift overhead, and work in rough terrain to access job sites, tools, and materials. Capable of performing physical tasks such as shoveling, mixing, and smoothing concrete.
