Job Overview:
As an experienced Decking Foreman, you will play a key role in overseeing and coordinating all decking-related activities on job sites. You will manage a team of skilled workers, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Your expertise in decking construction, safety practices, and leadership will be critical to the success of each project.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and lead a team of decking installers, carpenters, and laborers on job sites.
- Read and interpret blueprints, plans, and project specifications to ensure accurate and efficient decking construction.
- Organize and delegate tasks to ensure the timely completion of decking projects.
- Maintain a high standard of safety on job sites and ensure compliance with all safety regulations.
- Monitor and manage material inventory to ensure necessary supplies are available for each project.
- Collaborate with project managers and clients to ensure expectations and deadlines are met.
- Perform quality control checks on completed work and ensure it meets company standards.
- Provide on-the-job training and mentoring for less experienced workers.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues or challenges that arise during construction.
- Maintain clear communication with the team, clients, and upper management.
Qualifications:
- 5 years of experience in decking installation and construction, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or foreman role.
- In-depth knowledge of decking materials, tools, and construction techniques.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, train, and direct a team.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and project specifications.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with clients and team members.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- OSHA certification and other relevant safety training preferred.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
