Automotive General Manager
We're looking for an experienced Automotive General Manager (GM) to lead our Dealership.
The Automotive General Manager will be responsible for steering the sales and service teams to achieve their goals, ensuring the dealership's overall success. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record in the automotive industry, exceptional leadership abilities, and a commitment to customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
- Lead, coach, and guide the sales team, providing them with the tools and knowledge needed to excel.
- Oversee variable operations, including new and used sales, internet sales, finance managers, and service drive sales, with a focus on maximizing profitability.
- Maintain comprehensive product knowledge and ensure the sales team is well-informed about vehicle offerings.
- Monitor and enhance customer satisfaction scores by analyzing metrics and identifying improvement areas.
- Recruit, motivate, and evaluate sales personnel, fostering a high-performance culture.
- Conduct regular sales training sessions, sharing best practices with both new and experienced sales representatives.
- Establish and manage delivery procedures, ensuring a smooth transition for customers to the service department.
- Collaborate with the service team to maintain high-quality service standards and improve the overall customer experience.
- Achieve forecasted goals for dealership and OEM sales, gross profit, and key expenses on a monthly and annual basis.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of five years of experience as a General Sales Manager (GSM) or GM with responsibility for the variable and/or fixed operations of a successful dealership.
- Proven history of building and training a successful sales team, achieving strong Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) scores, and delivering above-average departmental profits.
- Strong background in building showroom and internet traffic, SEO and SEM, direct mail, and other traditional media.
- Experience in used vehicle purchasing, merchandising, and marketing.
- Expertise in supervising desk managers and improving Finance and Insurance (F&I) income through mentorship and training.
