Position Description
The Dispatch Manager will report directly to the CEO.
The Dispatch Manager oversees the scheduling, coordination, and efficiency of transportation and delivery operations. They ensure timely dispatch of customer vehicles, manage independent contract driver assignments, monitor routes, and optimize logistics to improve operational efficiency. Responsibilities include supervising dispatch staff, maintaining compliance with safety and regulatory requirements, handling driver inquiries, and troubleshooting delivery issues. Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills are essential for this role.
This position is a full-time office position located in Olathe, Kansas and is not eligible for remote work.
Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities
* Safety Culture - Participate in strengthening Team’s Safety Culture.
- Manage Dispatch Operations – Oversee daily scheduling and coordination of drivers, vehicles, and deliveries to ensure efficiency and timeliness.
- Supervise Dispatch Staff – Train, lead, and support dispatchers, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Monitor Routes and Performance – Track deliveries, optimize routes, and use GPS or logistics software to improve efficiency.
- Ensure Compliance – Maintain compliance with transportation regulations, safety standards, and company policies.
- Handle Driver Inquiries – Address driver requests, delivery status updates, and resolve service-related issues.
- Troubleshoot Delivery Issues – Respond to delays, route changes, and unforeseen obstacles to minimize disruptions.
- Coordinate with Other Departments – Work with sales team, operations teams and accounting to ensure seamless logistics.
- Analyze and Improve Operations – Review performance metrics, identify inefficiencies, and implement improvements to enhance productivity and cost-effectiveness.
