What are the responsibilities and job description for the Paint Technician position at Team Elmer's?
Team Elmer's is looking to fill a full-time opening for a Paint Technician at the Traverse City location. This position will evaluate and perform quality repairs and reconditioning of assets including but not limited to: cars, trucks, trailers and heavy equipment. Plan and assign work load in the paint shop. Work to ensure workload is planned out and timelines are created.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Plan and assign work load in the paint shop.
- Work with the other team members to ensure workload is planned out and timelines are created.
- Analyze and assess damage and repairs as needed.
- Perform tasks based upon work order requests.
- Perform paint repairs and reconditioning.
- Input work performed and paint ordered information into Manager Plus daily.
- Set schedules.
- Work with priorities when determining schedule.
- Know and follow all OSHA and company safety policies and procedures.
- Communicate any emergency or urgent need requests that have changed the weekly planned schedule.
- Plan for all changes in schedule when priority and needs change.
- Communicate weekly workload schedule and any specific job needs (IE. cranes, etc.).
- Ensure individuals working in the paint shop work with a sense of urgency, efficiency and continually provide productive and timely output.
- Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
- Valid Commercial Driver's License A, preferred.
- Clean driving record for past 5 years.
- Ability to pass pre-employment DOT physical and drug screen.
- High School Diploma or GED, preferred.
- Able to handle unexpected situations at a moment's notice.
- Strong work ethic.
- Computer knowledge.
- Previous spraying experience, preferred.
- Mechanical - Knowledge of equipment, machines and tools including their designs, uses, repair and maintenance.
