WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

TEAM Enterprises is hiring for an experienced Market Development Manager for an established nicotine client. You will be tasked representing multiple innovative nicotine products from a global leader in the category. This role will require someone able to build and maintain local B2B relationships while identifying opportunities and executing locally / culturally relevant experiential events. Our Market Development Manager will report to the Regional Manager, responsibilities include driving commercial sales within their account universe, owning brand activations for their designated market and driving awareness, consideration and trial for next generation nicotine products.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Local Business Development

  • Build an account universe of relevant on-premise & off-premise accounts to increase visibility of client’s brand portfolio.
  • Develop strong relationships with key accounts and qualified local businesses to build brand awareness with the ultimate goal of expanding on-premise distribution for multiple brands.
  • Identify and pursue new opportunities with unique local retailers and on-premise venues creating new channels of distribution to drive sales volume and increase market penetration in defined market.
  • Identify and secure contracts for priority hyper-relevant strategic venues that support long-term customer and adult consumer brand relationships.
  • Employ highly disciplined selling approach to gain new accounts and support sales, emphasizing product placement, POS placement and brand-specific programming.
  • Develop and utilize sales reports to measure brand performance within your accounts.
  • Contribute to analysis and recommendations arising within market.
  • Partner with client representatives as needed.
  • Maintain Top Volume accounts and reduce losses while prioritizing growth in the region.

Account Management :

  • Initiate and execute customized premium activations at accounts to escalate adult consumer consideration, purchase and trial.
  • Establish schedules of continued service for accounts.
  • Develop activation schedules for contracted accounts, ensure inventory levels are consistent.
  • Assist accounts with product orders when needed.
  • Champion the brand and the brand’s unique story and messaging points with account decision makers & account staff with informative and motivating brand trainings.
  • Develop sales contests within accounts that motivate staff and drive volume.
  • Assume the role of “Brand Expert / Ambassador” for all customer and account related activities, building authenticity and brand perception while also leveraging opportunities to increase sales.
  • Manage budgets, tactical resources, and tools to maximize returns throughout the year.
  • Consumer Activations :

  • Live the brand while executing high quality customer engagements to educate, cultivate enthusiasm and build brand loyalty while adhering to all local and federal regulations.
  • Own all aspects of event execution from setup - teardown.
  • Comfortably converse with qualified adult consumers at on-premise accounts and venues within assigned market to drive sales in contracted accounts on high volume nights.
  • Identify event opportunities with on-premise accounts, promoters, artists for elevated experiences and culturally relevant opportunities for adult consumer events. Event contracting and budget management when applicable.
  • Able to lift, transport, and assemble event assets.
  • Ensure each account maintains adequate inventory for each event.
  • Work with 3rd party agency on scheduling supplementary brand ambassador events.
  • Recap each event in detail. Provide customer and consumer insights. Share quality images of each activation.
  • Administrative :

  • Elevate lines of communication across internal team by owning the market, amplifying strategic wins, and identifying challenges with a solution-based approach.
  • Exemplify the positive attributes of being a team player and team builder with all related sales personnel, cross-functional agencies, and local / national counter parts.
  • Manage daily and weekly performance via internal tracking system, and effectively communicate results to identified stakeholders on a regular cadence including weekly and monthly recapping.
  • Deliver on all administrative duties in a thorough and timely manner as defined and requested by upper management.
  • Deliver on defined KPI goals related to placement, market availability, visibility, and quality of execution within critical account channels.
  • Maintain accurate inventory of event assets.
  • Manage strategic budgets to the penny, inclusive of spend and contracts garnered.
  • Provide market insights specific to region with urgency, ability to learn quickly and pivot smartly.
  • Complete regular rigorous training on compliance, laws and regulation for the category and stay up to date with client and TEAM’s internal policies and procedures.
  • WAYS TO STAND OUT FROM THE CROWD

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in on-premise experiential marketing. Experience in F / B, hospitality a plus. Prior experience with nicotine a plus.
  • Proven track record of building relationships with an unmatched drive to succeed
  • Comfortability working non-traditional hours as-needed including nights and weekends
  • Event focused – able to manage events from conception through execution and post-event.
  • Enthusiastic, entrepreneurial, self-disciplined, and driven team player with the ability to solve problems, take initiative, think innovatively and make fast paced decisions with a degree of autonomy while prioritizing the best interests of the group over personal gains.
  • Local market expert – you should know the places the brand needs to be at, be well connected with relevant local community members and venues, and know which locations are culturally relevant to drive the highest return and create impact for the brand.
  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Keynote a plus.
  • This role requires regular travel within market, potential travel outside of market
