The Georgia Department of Labor is accepting applications to fill the Compliance Investigator 1 position in the Benefits Payment Control Unit at the Georgia Department of Labor Headquarters in downtown Atlanta, GA.
This is a time-limited position with benefits through to June 30, 2025.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTION & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Under general supervision, reviews Unemployment Insurance Identity Verification and ID Theft cases.
- Gathers pertinent documents and evidence to support findings.
- Assists in preparing cases for overpayment establishment, civil action and criminal prosecution.
- Processes required department, state and federal reports per established guidelines.
- Provides customer service to internal and external customers regarding identification verification requirements and other areas of assignment.
- Responses to customer emails, faxes, phone calls and other correspondence
- Performs other duties as assigned.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATION
- Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college of university
- Two years of professional investigative experience with a state, federal or local governmental entity
- Four or more years' experience processing and/or adjudicating claims/rendering overpayment determinations
- Ability to use proper and effective investigative and interview techniques
- Experience generating and managing high volume, detailed work, requiring critical thinking skills
- Ability to use proper spelling, grammar and punctuation in reports
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office suite
