Job Summary
Georgia Emergency Management and Homeland Security Agency (GEMA/HS) is seeking a highly motivated Information Technology intern. The selected individual will have the opportunity to learn business technology, collaboration tools, and oversees the installation, configuration, and support for on-premises end point devices and other mobile devices. The selected candidate will conduct Level 1 technical support and monitor helpdesk tickets. In addition, the intern will actively contribute to meaningful projects and work closely with a mentor and with senior leadership.
Responsibilities
- Conduct technological research
- Provide Level 1 technical support (in-person/remote)
- Manage and monitor Helpdesk tickets
- Asset and inventory management of computer devices
- Surplus inventory management
- Develop/update Information Technology documentation
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday
Hours per Week: 20-30 hours
Internship Duration: 10 weeks

Working Conditions
This is a teamwork-oriented office environment that requires working at a computer to provide in-person and/or remote support Level 1 technical support to GEMA/HS staff. Low-to-moderate stress.

Minimum Qualifications
Student enrolled in a Georgia technical college, or university/college. Must be currently enrolled during the internship.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent
- A current student at an accredited college or university in the State of Georgia
- 0-3 years of experience in academic, business, or government setting
- Interest in technology implementation and support
- English speaking
- Ability to write and edit content and other documentation
- Strong organizational skills
- Attention to details
- Strong capabilities with Microsoft Office 365
- Knowledge of Microsoft Windows 10 or higher
- Ability to lift and handle packages up to 20lbs
