The Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) is the state agency that focuses solely on policies, programs, and services for people with mental health challenges, substance use disorders, intellectual and developmental disabilities, or any combination of these. As Georgia’s public safety net, DBHDD operates six field offices and five hospitals throughout the state within three program areas: behavioral health, developmental disabilities and hospital services.
The main office for DBHDD is located in downtown Atlanta.
Job Description
Job Title: Lead Incident Management Analyst
Pay Grade: M
Job Summary:
Reporting directly to the Manager of the Incident Management Unit within the Office of Incident Management and Compliance, conducts supervisory reviews of incidents submitted for individuals served in our community to determine risk and needed referrals. Acts as subject matter expert in specified area (nursing, behavior, social work, counseling, IDD/BH services, etc.). Provides support/direction to incident management functions. Functions as a resource within OIMC based upon the critical needs at any given time.
Primary Responsibilities:
· Navigate multiple sources of data to inform decisions
· Utilize critical thinking to generalize information across variety of scenarios to make educated and accurate decisions
· Supervise, support, coach, assess, and develop the skills of a team of clinical incident management analysts (CIMAs) in their day-to-day activities
· Conduct second level reviews of incidents and determine appropriate evaluation of risk and needed referrals
· Give CIMAs well-rounded and thorough feedback on their work submitted for review
· Conduct weekly case audits
· Conduct quality reviews/corrections on IMU data
· Provide oversight of team’s key performance indicators (KPIs)
· Train new staff
· Collaborate with IM team members to give insight about incident decisions
· Assist incident manager in IMU tasks as needed
· Act as subject matter expert in field of expertise (nursing, behavior, social work, counseling, IDD services, etc.)
· Be proficient in conducting and monitoring accurate, thorough, and timely entry of data into multiple databases
· Communicate effectively with team members, providers, and other stakeholders, including other DBHDD offices and divisions
· Maintain working knowledge of all policies and provider manuals relevant to the work
· Represent DBHDD professionally during all interactions with providers and stakeholders
· Other duties as necessary
Preferred Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in nursing or master’s degree in psychology, behavior analysis, social work, counseling, vocational rehabilitation, or a related field
· Experience working with the Intellectual/Developmental Disability population in a capacity that affords in-depth knowledge of the population and its strengths, challenges, and needs.
· Knowledge of DBHDD behavioral health and/or developmental disability services
· Two years of experience with incident management within behavioral health and/or developmental disability services
· Experience supervising the work of others
· Exceptional computer skills
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
