In addition to Pathways Center’s Adult and Child Centers, Pathways Center’s Licensed Counselors are part of Coweta County’s emergency response program called Coweta CARES. Coweta CARES is a unique para-medicine program that is designed to address behavioral health crisis calls to 911. Coweta CARES is a team of licensed clinicians and paramedics who work collaboratively to stabilize individuals who are experiencing behavioral health crises. The goal is to reduce unnecessary hospitalization and emergency department presentations.
This Licensed Counselor or License Eligible Counselor for the Care Campus will work night shift which will typically include hours from 7 p.m. - 6:00 a.m. The Licensed Counselor role has performance targets/productivity expectations to ensure quality care as well as compliance with regulatory and governing entities. Responsibilities for the Licensed Counselor or Licensed Eligible Counselor will include but not be limited to the following:
□ Provides patients/clients with the psychosocial and therapeutic support needed to cope with behavioral health crisis and/or detoxification
□ Completes Behavioral Health Assessments (BHA's) as a part of the intake process within the required timeframes. Conducts clinical interviews with the residents and is able to make a diagnostic impression based on clinical assessment
□ Works with other healthcare team members to prepare for and facilitate individual and group discussions on the unit with patients/clients to promote and reinforce the recovery process
□ Provides individual therapy and may conduct family sessions as needed to help facilitate a successful transition back into the community
□ Develops treatment plans collaboratively with the patient/client and input from all treatment team members
□ Provides professional level therapeutic services to persons with mental illness and/or addictive disease
□ Works alongside EMS personnel in the Coweta Cares program
□ Provides risk assessment and crisis intervention
□ Facilitates the admission process and maintains communication with referral sources, families, patients and Care Campus healthcare team
□ Must be proficient in use of technology with respect to use of Electronic Medical Record.
Minimum Qualifications
LPC, LCSW, or LMFT license in Georgia or Master's in Clinical Counseling, Social Work or Marriage & Family Therapy and license eligible (LAPC or LMSW)
A minimum of 1 year experience working in a behavioral health setting.
