What are the responsibilities and job description for the Registrar position at Team Georgia Careers?
The Registrar is responsible for planning, organizing, and directing the overall administration of the Registrar’s Office. They establish procedures in accordance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 and all other federal regulations regarding student records. The Registrar maintains student records and monitors access for compliance with federal and state laws.
They provide assistance in recruiting potential students and counsel students regarding transfers of credit and advanced standing. The Registrar also serves as the MIS Data Contact for the technical college, and maintains supplies for testing materials, applications for graduation/completion, drop/add forms, change of grade forms, grade mailers, and transcripts.
The Registrar supervises the processing of forms, administers or oversees state-approved assessment instruments and other tests as determined by the administration, and is responsible for developing the advisement/registration process in collaboration with instructional services. Additionally, they collect and process class grades from part-time instructional staff, verify the completion of graduation requirements for diploma and certificate programs, and plan and implement graduation exercises.
The Registrar manages and oversees the financial and budget operations of the department and monitors personnel activities to ensure compliance with TCSG policies and departmental guidelines. They evaluate employees at scheduled intervals, reviewing all relevant information.
The Registrar also develops and/or assists with the development of policies and procedures, recommending changes to effectively meet the goals and requirements of the program. They maintain up-to-date knowledge of policies, procedures, and state or federal laws that may impact department initiatives and assist with the design and execution of special events, projects, and activities as requested
